A very fine English 18K gold and enamel open faced cylinder pocket watch, circa 1850.
The case back with an en grisaille enamel miniature portrait of the Duke of Wellington in uniform framed by gold foliate scrolls on a black ground, engraved edges, signed gold dome, case maker’s mark P.E. Gilt engraved dial, radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. Frosted gilt bridge movement, key-wound, cylinder escapement, three-arm ring balance.
