A very fine and heavy English 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating duplex pocket watch, circa 1823. Full plate movement, key wind, two hammers and two gongs, chain and fusee, a duplex escapement and gold screw compensation balance. Yellow and rose gold dial with applied Roman hours, outer minute dots, engine-turned centre, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and heavy spade & whip hands. The engine-turned case with a reeded band and maker’s mark WW. Movement signed and numbered.
