Exquisite gold and enamel double cased watch

An exquisite early gold and enamel double cased watch with cylinder escapement, made by Francis Perigal in London, England, circa 1769. This watch features a 22 carat gold double case with London hallmarks from 1769, a beautifully enamelled outer case and an inner case with an inscription. The very beautifully preserved enamel dial features an outer minute and hour track with Arabic 5 minute numerals and Roman hour numerals and very finely crafted gold hands. The numbered movement is equipped with a fine cylinder escapement and a diamond end stone.
The case and movement bear matching numbers and the movement is signed.
