Marine chronometer in mahogany box

An English brass Earnshaw type detent marine chronometer with a 56 hour power reserve, circa 1860. Silver dial with radial Roman hour numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, power reserve indication below 12 and gold spade hands. The bowl is mounted on a gimbal in a mahogany wooden box. Chain and fusee movement with maintaining power, diamond endstones for the balance wheel, a free sprung blued steel helical spring with terminal curve, Earnshaw type detent escapement, and cut and compensated bimetallic balance wheel. The dial is signed.
