Although there are a number of watchmakers by the Thomas Savage name, it is believed to be Thomas Savage based on Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell, London. He trained as a clockmaker in 1788 and was acquitted by the Clockmaker’s Company in 1797. In 1835 he became insolvent.
