Silver duplex pocket chronometer by Jacott
–
A technically interesting English duplex chronometer with two time zones and jumping seconds, made for the Chinese market, circa 1850. This watch features an original engine-turned silver case with a cartouche marked Duplex Jacott and numbered 14222. It showcases a splendidly decorated duplex movement with key winding and two separate windings for the time zones. The dial is original enamel with a floral enamel painting and is marked Chronometer. It has a jumping centre seconds hand, indications for seconds and date on the outer part of the dial, and two subsidiary dials for the time zones with Roman radial hours and blued steel hands.
