A fine and rare English, silver pair-cased pocket watch with rack lever escapement, circa 1813. The case by William Mean with London hallmarks for 1813-1814.
A polished outer and innercase, gilt brass dust cap. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary 15-second dial. Gold spade hands.
A hinged, frosted gilt full-plate movement with cylindrical pillars, jeweled to the third, fusee and chain, Harrison’s maintaining power, rack lever escapement with large brass escape wheel, three-arm steel flat-rim balance with flat balance spring, diamond endstone, single-footed cock. Dial, dust cap and movement signed.
