An English pocket chronometer with spring detent escapement according to Earnshaw, circa 1813.
Silver, consular, polished case with case maker punch mark EB (Elizabeth Barnett, Clerkenwell). Signed and numbered enamel dial with radial Arabic hours, auxiliary seconds, and blued spade hands. Keywind, frosted, gilt, and signed full plate movement with chain/fusee with Harrison’s maintaining power, moulded pillars, spring detent escapement, heavy compensation balance with four regulation screw nuts, free-sprung helical blued balance spring, fine engraved balance cock, and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.

Paul Philip Barraud,
Barraud was famous for his chronometers; he became a Fellow of the Clockmakers’ Company (17-1813) and a Master (1810-1811). In 1838 he started a partnership with John Richard Lund, who took over the company after Barraud’s death.
