An English extravagant and very interesting verge watch with repeating hours and quarters on bell, circa 1690.
Silver cases, 1st case with a protective tortoiseshell on back, face leather covered and sound openings, 2nd case from high-quality with fine sound openings, bell, very beautiful and signed dome, engraved, partly gilt, keyhole and original silver key; early English verge movement from excellent quality with beautiful verge bridge, rare pillar-shape, peripheral signed and numbered, engraved barrels and repeating hours and quarters on bell; very beautiful replaced dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and decorative hands.
