Extremely rare clock with center seconds

An extremely rare carriage clock with skeletonised movement and center seconds, made for the Chinese market by Ward in London, England, circa 1780. The fire gilt case of this clock is set with gemstones and glazed on both sides. The original enamel dial features an outer track for the seconds, minutes and hours, with Arabic numerals for 5 second and 5 minute intervals, Roman numerals for the hours, a stoppable center seconds hand and gold hour and minute hands. The magnificent skeletonised and numbered movement is equipped with a verge escapement, rare vase clocks, a large steel balance wheel and a diamond end stone.
