An exceptionally large English gilded brass and enamel pair cased verge pocket watch, circa 1800. Full plate movement, chain and fusee, a verge escapement and three arm iron balance. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals and moon hands. The gilt brass outer case with engraved edges and a paste set bezel, a large enamel medallion with paillonné decoration on the back, it shows a geometric grid pattern with stylised green leaves and flat pearls over an engine turned translucent cobalt blue enamel ground, a plain gilt brass inner case. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
