An English gold and enamel triple cased verge watch, made for the Turkish market, circa 1800, gilt full plate verge movement signed Markwick Markham Perigal, London, fusee and chain, pierced and engraved balance cock.
White enamel dial, Turkish numerals, plain polished inner case, case maker’s mark IK,central scallop-form case with a polychrome enamel burst of summer flowers against a translucent enamel red ground over engine-turning, surrounded by a ring of white enamel and three-color gold floral swags, diamond-set thumb piece, outer case enameled with gold, red and green flowers against a yellow and blue ground, dial and movement signed.
