A gold enamel pair cased verge pocket watch for the Ottoman market, circa 1803.
18K gold case, scalloped edge with polychrome ower Champlevé enamel decoration, partly translucent and opaque enamelled, glazed back cover, à goutte, case maker punch mark “IM”, large lateral hinge, thumb piece set with a large diamond, in the centre a lavishly painted enamel plaque depicting musical instruments and owers against an engine-turned, translucent red enamelled background, opaque white and translucent red and blue enamelled bezel and pendant set with a large diamond. Enamel dial, radial Ottoman numerals, “Fleur de Lys” gold hands. Full plate movement, keywind, gilt, chain/fusee, three-arm steel balance, finely orally engraved and pierced balance cock, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
