Gold open faced cylinder watch

A fine Swiss, 18K pink gold quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1830. An Empire, engine-turned case, reeded bezel and back rim, case back with a crest in the centre depicting an owl, hinged cuvette. Two-tone gold dial with radial Roman numerals and floral decoration on an outer reserve, outer minute divisions, engine-turned centre. Gold Lozenge hands. A frosted movement, gilt Lépine calibre, standing barrel, cylinder escapement, parachute shock absorber, three-arm balance with flat balance spring, hammers striking on rectangular gongs activated by a plunge in the bow stem. Cuvette signed.
