Multicoloured gold verge pocket watch

A very fine 18 carat multicoloured gold pair cased, quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1810. Military Trophy by Daniel de Saint-Leu, Watchmaker to Her Majesty, London. Made for the Islamic Market. Outer, Louis XVI case, the bezels with applied multicoloured floral and foliage decoration and the back chased with an urn of flowers and military trophies. Inner: pierced and engraved foliate decoration.

White enamel dial with Islamic numerals, outer minute track with Islamic five-minute numerals. Gold beetle and poker hands. A hinged gilt-brass fill plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring and English gilt-brass pierced and engraved cock with polished steel end-piece. Quarter repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant, Gilt-brass dust cap. Dial, movement and dust cover signed.
