Gold hunting cased keywound lever by J.R. Losada

A very fine and rare, small English quarter repeating 18K gold hunting cased pocket watch with ruby duplex escapement, made for the Hispanic market, circa 1851. Gilt movement, fusee and chain, three quarter plate, 35 jewels, ruby duplex escapement, cut bimetallic balance, flat balance spring, engraved cock with diamond endstone, repeating on two gongs activated by a slide in the band.
Case by Alfred Stram (AS), covers, band and bezels chased and engraved with rococo floral and foliate decoration, front with vacant cartouche. Hinged gold cuvette.
Silver dial with applied gold decoration, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost applied gold oak leaf pattern, center with applied gold rosette surrounded by stylized foliate engraving with applied gold laurel-leaf frame, subsidiary seconds, engraved central field with applied gold basket of flowers. Blued steel Breguet hands.
