Gold enamel pair cased watch

An important, very fine minute repeating gold enamel pair cased pocket watch for the Ottoman market, circa 1826.  Outer case is 18 Carat gold, scalloped edge with polychrome flower Champlevé enamel decoration, partly translucent and opaque enamelled, in the centre a lavishly painted enamel plaque with an Alpine lakeview against an engine-turned and translucent rose coloured background, framed by a waved, engine-turned and translucent red enamelled border, the inner with underglaze signature “Jn. Dainese 1826”, case maker punch mark “IM”, à goutte, five piece lateral hinge, thumb piece set with a large diamond. Inner case is 18 Carat gold, lavishly florally hand-engraved and pierced border with translucid enamelled cartouches depicting musical instruments and banner with half moon, in the centre a waved plaque with a summer flower bouquet against an engine-turned, translucent red enamelled background, engine-turned and translucent red enamelled bezel and pendant set with a large diamond. Dial is enamel, radial Ottoman numerals, gold “heart” hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers, bell, 2 barrels, cylinder escapement, three-arm steel balance, finely florally engraved balance cock, silver regulator disc, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
