Gold open faced pocket watch
–
A large and heavy English double cased verge watch in 18K pink gold, important English watchmaker, business partner of Breguet, Louis Recordon London, circa 1778. An 18K pink gold, heavy double case, watchpaper, case maker’s mark FG, original, signed dome, very beautifully engraved verge movement with grotesque face, signed main plate, original signed enamel dial, pink gold hands, in good condition and in working order, cleaning recommended.

Although the case is undoubtedly the original case, it has no English punches but the 18K Gold punch of Neuchatel. It is known that many English watchmakers received cases from Switzerland, but with simple gold cases like here this is an exception.
