A very fine English, a silver pair cased pocket watch with fusee and chain, circa 1775. The outer case is polished and hinged with a button for opening. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel spade hands. Hinged gilt brass, full plate movement with pot-shaped pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English pierced and engraved balance cock. Signed on the back plate, the inner case punched W.D., London hallmarks for 1775.
