A most decorative English gold, enamel and half pearl set open faced quarter repeating cylinder pocket watch with matching chatelaine, circa 1810. Gilt, frosted bridge movement, keywound, blued screws, two hammers, two bells, cylinder escapement, three armed brass balance, blued balance spring. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals and gold arrow shaped hands. Case with translucent steelblue enamel over engine turning to the back, set with large half pearls, bezels with engine turned patterns of stripes and dots, case maker’s punch mark PD. Comes with matching gold and enamel chatelaine with a circular, engine turned and steelblue enamelled tag and pendants set with half pearls, later presentation box.
