An unusual and very fine repoussé pair cased verge watch, made by J. Richson in London, England, circa 1754. The pair case of this watch is crafted from silver and gold and features a gold repoussé outer case, a silver gilt inner case with London Hallmark 1754 and a watch paper. The very unusual champlevé dial with blue enamel inlays features an outer minutes track with Arabic 5 minute numerals, Roman hour numerals and original iron hands. The numbered movement is fitted with an early verge escapement and a worm screw.
The dial and movement are signed.
