An English gold and bloodstone verge clock watch with an associated dial, made for the Turkish market, circa 1790. The watch features a gilded full plate movement with verge escapement, a pierced and engraved balance cock with a mask at the foot, fusee and chain, and is signed by G. Burton of London. It has a white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, an outer minute track, beetle and poker hands, and is signed Georges Prior (sic), of London. The gold case has a bloodstone bezel and case back, and it comes with a later associated presentation case.

The movement is operational. The dial, while related, matches the watch’s period. There is a small chip near the lever at 6 o’clock, but the overall condition is good. The case has several cracks in the bloodstone bezel, but the back panel remains in good condition. The silver and ruby thumbpiece has been replaced. Gold import marks are present on the stem.

Signed: Georges Prior (sic), London
