A rare English extremely decorative gold key wind triple cased pocket watch with high relief repoussé and shagreen outer decoration, circa 1769.
Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, moulded movement pillars, blued screws, verge escapement, steel balance, florally engraved and pierced balance bridge, silver regulator disc, and signed: Ja. Shearwood, London.
Enamel dial with painted centre depicting a pastoral scene, black Roman numeral hour markers with Arabic numeral 5 minute markers, gilt Louis XV style hands.
Polished inner case, repousse outer with later added decoration depicting the God Mars, outer studded shagreen case with exhibition glass. Movement signed.
