Very large gold hunter case watch

A fine English lever in a large and substantial gold full hunter case, hallmarked Chester circa 1906. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, and gilt spade hands. Very substantial plain 18 Carat full hunter case, small gold slide in the band to stop the balance. Maker’s mark ‘BH’ in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement, gross weight 245 grams. In a velvet lined rosewood presentation case, vacant shield shaped mother of pearl cartouche in the lid.
