Gold enamel pocket watch by Morisset & Lukins
–
An impressive English gold, enamel, diamond, ruby, and pearl-set oval cylinder watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1790. The watch features a gilded 3/4 plate movement with a cylinder escapement and a plain flat three-arm balance. It is signed and numbered Morriset & Lukins. The dial features an oval shape with blue translucent enamel over an engine-turned ground, accented with diamond-set floral sprays. It also includes two white subsidiary dials displaying time with Roman numerals and seconds with an Arabic ring, all encircled by borders of opaque white and red guilloché enamel. The case is crafted from gold, with translucent blue enamel on the back over an engine-turned surface. It is adorned with a large diamond and a ruby-set star motif. The front and back bezels are set with two rows of split pearls, and the pendant is further embellished with split pearls. Additionally, it features a stirrup bow and a polished gold cuvette.

The dial has only been viewed through the glass, and it appears to be in good overall condition with no obvious signs of cracks. The case also seems to be in good overall condition, although there are signs of scratching on the enamel. As for the movement, it appears to be fully wound but is not running, and there are small marks and scratches on the backplate.
