A very heavy gold English precision pocket watch with duplex escapement and ruby coil, chronometer maker Richard Ganthony, circa 1827.
White enamel dial with black Roman numerals, blued steel hands.
18 Carat gold, English quality case, English duplex movement with ruby coil and diamond endstone, engraved balance bridge, main plate also signed and numbered, enamel dial, blued steel hands.

Richard Ganthony started his apprenticeship in 1795 to a watchmaker by the name of Thomas Miles his apprenticeship finished.

He opened his own business at 27 cannon street from 1801-1806. he moved to Lombard street from 1807 until 1819. by 1825 he was at 83 Cheapside.
