A fine English 18 carat gold open faced pocket chronometer, circa 1827. Gilt finished full plate movement, chain fusée, Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with segmental heat compensation weights. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Plain case. Case stamped with casemaker’s initials EL for Ebenezer Lowrie and London date letter for 1827/28, dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
