Andrew Dunlop, English watchmaker
Andrew Dunlop manufactured numerous small clocks and grandfather clocks between 1701 and 1733. In 1716 he built the tower clock for Hawkley House, Blackwater. Andrew Dunlop became a member of the Clockmakers Company in 1701 and his business was in Spread Eagle Court, Gray’s Inn, London. He married Alice House in 1702.

Andrew Dunlop trained some apprentices to become watchmakers. Richard Greenway from May 7, 1705 to May 4, 1719 Thomas Hague from March 2, 1718 to? and Conyers Dunlop from January 17, 1725 to July 2, 1733. Conyers Dunlop was believed to be a son of Andrew.

According to Family Search Comunity Trees, Andrew Dunlop’s father was Reverend (pastor) Ludovic Dunlop and Elizabeth Douglas. Ludovic Dunlop was born in 1620. Presumably it’s the grandparents, and there was another Andrew Dunlop senior who was a watchmaker.

Andrew Dunlop may have died in 1733 as a will was published on June 10, 1735. He was based in Saint Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, London.
