Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A very fine English 22 carat gold pair cased repoussé verge pocket watch made for the Dutch market by Allen Walker in London, circa 1786. The outer case has bezels decorated with rocaille and floral designs, a large lateral hinge and the back shows an allegorical high relief scene. The polished inner case with the maker’s punch mark FR. The dial is made of white enamel and has Roman hours, an outer arcaded minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals and gold poker & beetle hands. The fine fire gilded full plate movement is keywind and decorated with applied engraved ornaments.
It also features a chain and fusee, baluster shaped pillars, a three arm steel balance and florally engraved pierced balance bridge depicting Cronus.
