An English pair-cased silver enamel verge pocket watch with repoussé decoration, circa 1781.
Full plate movement, keywind, fire gilt, chain/fusee, square baluster pillars, three-arm steel balance, florally engraved and pierced balance bridge, and signed on the back plate: J Tarts LONDON. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, arcaded minute ring, and decorative gilt hands. Two cases: a silver outer case, the backside in high relief, in the centre a polychrome enamel painted scene, and a large lateral hinge; and a silver polished inner case.
