Silver verge pocket watch by Isaac Rogers

An English George III silver triple cased pocket watch for the Turkish market, circa 1795. This watch has a keywind gilt fullplate chaindriven verge fusee movement with applied engraved ornaments, moulded movement pillars, a threearm steel balance, and a very finely florally engraved and pierced balance cock with vase decoration. The backplate is signed Isaac Rogers London. It features a signed white enamel convex dial with radial Ottoman numerals and Poker & Beetle hands. There are three cases: a transport case made of tortoiseshell with pique decoration; an outer case of silver with engraved edges and a large lateral hinge, assayed London 1795; and an inner case, polished silver.
