Rare clock watch with Grande and Petite Sonnerie

A large, heavy and rare English silver hour and quarter hour self striking clock watch with Grande/Petite Sonnerie, retro grade date, 8 day power reserve and jumping seconds, circa 1827. Gilt frosted full plate movement, keywind, two hammers, two gongs, two barrels, levers marked ‘N-S’ for strike – silent and ‘quarre – heure’ for hours or quarters, tooth star wheel on the plate scratched with the days of the week advancing at each turn of the going barrel, solid moulded pillars, cylinder escapement, three armed steel balance, blued balance spring, engraved balance cock, engraved regulator scale, diamond endstone on balance. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, large seconds, retro grade date indication and spade gold hands. Plain case, casemaker’s punch mark WH, pusher for repetition at 12.
