A rare pair-cased English pocket watch with a florally decorated silver watch chain, circa 1768. The watch’s outer case is silver and has a large lateral hinge and a case maker’s punch mark IL. The silver inner case features a signed movement protection cap and a case maker’s punch mark IL. The enamel dial displays radial Roman hours and Arabic minutes with gold heart hands. The watch has a full plate movement, is keywind, firelight, and has applied engraved ornaments. It is signed and has chain/fusee, baluster movement pillars, cylinder escapement, three-arm steel balance, and an engraved pierced balance cock with a grotesque face.
