An extravagant and very rare English silver pair-cased verge pocket watch, circa 1688-1733. Verge movement with very rare decoration, completely decorated main plate with silver, engraved rim and with silver glazed verge bridge, main plate signed and numbered.
Plain pair cases with decorative watch paper in the shape of the sun, case maker’s punch mark IDF with a crown. Splendid white enamel dial in Dutch style with Roman hours, arcaded minute divisions, Arabic minute numerals, a polychrome enamel maritime scene in the centre and decorative gilt hands.
