Silver pocket watch with coat of arms

A French silver open faced keyless pocket watch with a split seconds chronograph and 30 minute register made by Leroy in Paris, circa 1896. Specially made to commemorate the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna in 1896. The back cover with an applied silvered high relief Russian Imperial coat of arms showing the bust length portraits of Nicholas and Alexandra, a button at 1 o’clock for the split seconds and the start/stop function of the chronograph activated by depressing the crown. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, an outer minute track with fifth of a second divisions and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6, 30 minute register at 12 and gold spade hands. A matte gilt movement, 21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and an index regulator. Dial, case and movement are signed.
