This watch has similarities with a nearly identical watch made by Frères Les Raffard that was sold by Antiquorum in Geneva in 2011. Similar watches are featured and described in “The Sandberg Watch Collection” by Terence Camerer-Cuss, published in Geneva in 1998. According to Juergen Abeler, the Viennese watchmaker Franz Josef Pompejo was born in 1754 and was first recorded in 1785. Pompeo passed away in 1829.
