Gold, enamel and diamond-set open faced Louis XVI watch

A fine Swiss 18K gold, enamel and diamond-set lady’s pendant watch, circa 1780. A Louis XVI case, the back centred by an oval polychrome enamel painting of two girls seated in a landscape, paste-set border, outer white enamel pearl border and the outermost rim translucent green and red foliage, the paste-set bezel on the front decorated to match. White enamel dial, Arabic hours, outer minute divisions, winding aperture between 1 and 2 o’clock, Louis XVI hands. A hinged gilt-brass movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock, polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
