Silver, gold verge watch with automaton Jacks

A fine Swiss, silver and varicoloured gold, quarter repeating pocket watch with automaton Jacks, circa 1820. An Empire case, engine-turned. Gilt brass cuvette. Varicoloured gold, engine-turned dial, with Arabic numerals on white enamel cartouches, outer white enamel minute track, varicoloured gold and painted blackamoor jacks to each side appearing to strike two bells above, grassy base. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass, full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
