Royal gift watch with portrait of Oskar I King of Sweden

A very fine gold and enamel royal gift watch from Oskar I, King of Sweden, made by Robin in Paris, France, circa 1845. The open faced and numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold and enamel and has an enamel painting of outstanding quality depicting the portrait of Oskar I, king of Sweden, on the back with the royal crown in the upper area and blue and white enamel on the edge of the case. The white enamel dial has black Roman hour numerals and original Breguet steel hands. The early bridge movement has a cylinder escapement.
The cuvette is signed.

This is an historically interesting clock with excellent enamel magnifier painting. It was either the personal watch of the Swedish King Oskar I or a watch that he gave as a gift. Above the portrait is the crown and below is the Swedish royal coat of arms.
