A gold verge watch with enamel painting and stone setting, made by Gilbert in Paris, France, circa 1780. The open faced case of this watch, which is crafted from 18 carat gold, is jewelled on both sides and has a back with a fine enamel painting. The white enamel dial has Arabic fifteen minute- and hour numerals and gold sun hands and the numbered movement has a verge escapement.
Dial and movement are signed.
