A fine Swiss, 18K gold and enamel scallop shell-form pendant watch with a concealed dial, circa 1810. A fermée type, shell-shaped, spring-loaded front cover reveals the dial, both sides identically decorated with blue, red, white and black champlevé enamel. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarters. Gold spade hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, silver regulation dial. Movement numbered. Property of a Swiss Gentleman.
