Gold repeater with virgule escapement

A very fine and unusual Swiss, 18 Carat gold, three train, petite/grande sonnerie clockwatch, circa 1820. With independent quarter repeater, four square gongs and virgule escapement. An Empire case polished with a reeded band. Hinged gilt metal cuvette. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel Breguet hands.

A frosted gilt, full plate movement, virgule escapement, gold three-arm balance, a lever for change from petite to grande sonnerie at 3 o’clock, strike/silent lever at 4 o’clock, independent repeating train striking on its own two square gongs, activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed and case stamped P3G within an oval and ID within a lozenge.
