A very fine and rare English 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set lever pocket watch with centre seconds made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Spring Bouquet by Just & Son. The bezel, pendant and bow set with split-pearls, hinged and sprung back cover decorated with a finely painted on enamel bouquet of poppies, nasturtiums and roses on a dark blue guilloché enamel ground, white, pale green and red enamel border with chased gold scrolls, outer split-pearl border.

Hinged and sprung gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minutes and seconds track with Arabic quarter-hour numerals, gold ovoid hands. Chinese calibre, frosted gilt movement, entirely engraved, standing barrel, eight jewels, lateral lever escapement, three-arm balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed.
