Gold open faced lever watch
–
A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical manual wind movement with a lever escapement. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours and an outer minute track of fine gold dots with Arabic gold 5 to 60 minute markers. It also has a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and ornate Louis XV style hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case bearing a French horse warranty hallmark. It features a fluted winding crown, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a reverse back cover richly chased with a guilloche pattern of fine flowers and foliage surrounding an unengraved central cartouche. It includes a matching gold cuvette.
