A fine French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch, circa 1900. It has a mechanical manual wind movement with a lever escapement. The white enamel dial displays black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals from 5 to 60, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and ornate Louis XV style gold hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case bearing a French horse warranty hallmark. It features a fluted winding crown, a sturdy round suspension bow, and a reverse back cover richly chased and engraved with scrolling flowers and foliage around an unengraved central cartouche. It is complete with a matching gold cuvette.
