An important gold  French Compteur militaire pocket watch, circa 1816. This watch showcases an 18-carat gold engine-turned case with a collier case design, an engine-turned band, a stop lever, and a hallmark indicating 1816. The enamel dial is signed and features Breguet-style numerals, a minute subdial at 4, a centre seconds hand with 84 divisions, an auxiliary seconds subdial at 8, a regulation scale at 6, and elegant gold Breguet hands. The watch’s movement is a full plate design, keywind, frosted and gilt, with a large barrel and a three-arm brass balance.
