Silver single handed Oignon watch
–
A museum like single handed Oignon with alarm and mock pendulum by Voisin a Paris, circa 1690. A magnificent silver case, pierced, case band with several cartouches with birds motifs, bell, very early signed verge movement with mock pendulum, verge bridge again with birds motifs, exceptionally beautiful Egyptian pillars with silver ornaments, very steep and high fusee, decorated barrel for the striking mechanism, exceptionally beautiful cartouche dial with pierced fire gilt alarm disc, iron hand, rare, in exceptionally beautiful condition, in working order. Nicolas Voisin was recorded in Paris from 1692-1708. As the watch is still single handed, it dates very likely from before 1700!
