A very early French Louis XIV oignon watch with enamel decoration and mock pendulum, circa 1690. Extravagant and smooth silver case with gilt brass mid-section. Very rare oignon movement with enamel painting and mock pendulum, miniature enamel ladies portrait, main plate signed, silver movement decoration and protective device of the escapement. Fire-gilt dial with enamel cartouches, blue Roman hours, inner white enamel ring with half-hour scale and iron hand.
