Gold open faced verge lady’s watch

A fine French, 18K gold, enamel and rose-cut paste-set pocket watch, circa 1780. The back is decorated with a translucent green guilloche enamel annular panel, foliate gold and enamel border set with rose-cut paste in silver mounts, paste-set bezel. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and five-minute Arabic numerals, winding aperture at 2 o’clock. Rose-cut diamond-set hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement with turned flared cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, micrometric potence adjustment, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, silver regulation disc. Dial and movement signed.
