Savoye Frères & Cie., French watch manufacture
Savoye Frères & Cie. was founded in Besançon in 1794. Around 1830 Charles Savoye (1793-1878) joined the company as a partner.
The architect Gustave Vieille designed a new company building for the Savoye family, which was implemented in 1864 at Square Saint-Amour 7 (show this location). Over the course of time, this house has remained steeped in history: well-known companies such as Neyret Frères (successor to Savoye Frères & Cie.), Maison Louis Leroy and Zenith followed. The most complicated clock in the world at the time was also made here, which is now in the clock museum in Besançon. Today the building is a listed building.
Savoye Frères & Cie. also maintained an office in Paris from 1840 at rue de Grenelle St-Honoré and later at 6 boulevard de Sébastopol.
